Paul Davies Memorial Cycling Challenge

Sunday 16 September will see the second running of the Cycling Challenge in support of the Paul Davies Memorial Fund for the Cardiomyopathy Association. As last year there will be a choice of three routes:

- 25km from Billericay to Blackmore and back - suitable for fun riders
- 50km from Billericay to Willingale and back - suitable to those with some cycling experience.
- 100km from Billericay to Little Hallingbury and back - for the more serious rider

The Event HQ for all three routes is Hannakins Farm Community Centre Centre, Billericay and the start is from 8:30am.

All routes are mainly on quiet lanes and the 50km and 100km utilise some of the National Cycling Network Route 1.

Entry
The entry is £15 and all finishers will receive an award. All proceeds for this event will go to the Cardiomyopathy Association in memory of Paul Davies who died aged 28 in 2005. Paul although not a cyclist himself was the consummate sports fan and besides his passion for football and boxing could speak with knowledge about most sports certainly including cycle racing.

This is one of a series of events in his memory to raise money to increase our knowledge of this young persons’ heart disease, a condition which weakens the heart muscles and is the commonest cause of sudden death for people under 30 in the UK.
