Leda Cox (America's Diaryland) had her first two races in Boulder, Colorado
at the weekend having only been in the US five days and won her first race and
came 4th in the second.
Both were Elite Criteriums and attracted good pro/elite fields.
Boulder North Colorado Criterium - March 22
A breakaway was forged early on with three America's Dairyland riders in it
including Leda.
Leda punctured while in the break, dropped off, changed the wheel, chased to
get back on and attacked the group as she caught them, from where she continued
alone to take the win as a solo breakaway.
It was a great day for her team as her team mates took 2nd and 3rd too as
the break stayed away. At the finish, an emotional Leda dedicated the win to
her father, Alan who passed away last year after a long battle with cancer.
NCCA Boulder Criterium - March 23:
This was a much more controlled race with a strong presence from the Colavita
and High Road teams and in the end, despite many attacks it came down to a sprint.
The America's Diaryland team led out the sprint for their sprinter Cari Higgins
who in the end was just pipped to the line by Tiffany Cromwell (Team Colavita).
In turn, Leda was pipped for 3rd place by Mara Abbot (Team High Road)
